Theater artist and playwright SHILADITYA ROY collaborated for the first time with DHRITI CHATTERJEE, a Hindustani Classical singer, to create a heady mix of English poetry and Urdu Ghazals, with accompanying musicians, to depict the essential joys and sorrows of life.
It was a tale of togetherness through words.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Shiladitya Roy has been part of the group theatre movement in Kolkata and has been directing and acting in plays for the last decade.
Dhriti Chatterjee though originally from Kolkata, now based in Pune is a disciple of Vidushi Pandita Padma Talwalkarji and Vidushi Arti Ankalikarji. Dhriti has completed her Masters in Hindusthani Classical vocal music under the guidance of Late Vidushi Suhasini Koratkarji. Dhriti has also taken taalim in Ghazal and Thumri from Dr. Shashikala Shirgopikarji and in Kolkata, she has taken taalim from Acharya Jayanta Bose. She has performed in various cities and on various radio and TV channels.
